In 2020 tuscany on Tamborine was born

A rich history on Tamborine Mountain: if these 40-year-old avocado trees could talk, they would tell you of the French restaurant that was filled with laughter. Before this, of Quigglies Avocado farm that sorted all of the avocados for the Scenic Rim under a large scallion.

How we became
Tuscany on Tamborine

When all others went to ground during the coronavirus pandemic, Alicia & Tony Stephens lovingly restored the property, and Tuscany on Tamborine was born. Alicia, an Interior Stylist and her team pruned back avocado orchards, landscaped the gardens with magnolias and jacarandas, built a driveway, roads and sandstone fire pits as well as planted hundreds of Italian and French lavender bushes to create a lavender oasis you’d see only in Italy.

The restaurant has been utterly transformed into a high-end Tuscan farmhouse, complete with rustic stonework on the exterior and textural plaster and terracotta tile inside. Alicia and her team enclosed the open-air dining area with a show stopping, floor to ceiling wall of glass looking out over the property’s spectacular olive groves and Italian bocce lawn. She exposed the beams within the ten-foot ceiling and completed the ‘Great Room’ by installing a double-sided fireplace and exquisite 55kg Italian chandelier.

Our farmhouse is situated at the front of ten acres of the Scenic Rim’s best avocado farmland. Relax and breathe deeply as a soft breeze with hints of lavender transports you to rolling Tuscan orchards. Take shade under our oversized olive trees, smell the lavender, play bocce on our purpose-built bocce lawn or simply find rest under one of our 400 beautiful avocado trees.

Tuscany on Tamborine also offers an Italian poolside experience and little explorer’s playground nearby with a custom-built cubby house.

Once the farmhouse restoration was complete, Alicia set about sourcing pieces that matched the character and architecture of the farmhouse. From flea markets to high-end boutiques, the fixtures, fittings and furniture placed throughout the property work together to create a modern rustic atmosphere unseen in most location hire properties.

The Result?

A Tuscan escape — picturesque, tranquil and completely secluded. Alicia and Tony opened their gates in the Summer of 2021 for private corporate events, filming and photoshoot collaborations and location hire for filming and content creation’.
